Ethics Statement

I mean no harm. I do my best to ensure no one suffers because of my work.
I undertake considerate research and evaluate my artwork's societal and contextual impact.
When I write and talk about my work, I do it in a way that does not require academic education to understand what I am trying to communicate.
When engaging with people I photograph, I do my best to behave respectfully and ethically. I only work when given their full consent. I sign clear and informative model release documents.
I always credit my collaborators if they agree to it.
When presenting my work online, I strive to do it in an accessible way that does not discriminate against anyone based on their circumstances. I also support assistive needs and technologies as much as possible.
I assign 20% of any commission or sale of work to support the work of MFS.
I recognise my position in the matrix of domination as a white, heterosexual artist who self-finances their activities. I do what I can to never use this privilege to my advantage over others.
I make mistakes, and when made aware of them by anyone I might unintentionally harm, I do what I can to repair the damage and learn from it.
I grow, learn and constantly change in effect. I am aware of this and review this Ethics Statement regularly.
